Automated ultrasonic review

Check out the new STATCLEAN from SciCan for an effective and safe and quieter ultrasonic option

There are a lot of useful infection control devices out there. I just reviewed the MULTIsteril automated ultrasonic washer by Tecno-Gaz. It is NOT a sterilizer like the name might imply but it IS an automatic ultrasonic that fills, adds detergent, degases the solution, then ultrasonically cleans, rinses and dries items. Kind of like an even smaller Hydrim C61WD G4 by SciCan, but with a few distinct differences.

Both prepare instruments for sterilization with automated wash, rinse and dry processes. The Hydrim uses high impingement jets of flowing alkaline detergent, whereas the MULTIsteril uses an ultrasonic bath.

In comparison, the Hydrim C61WD G4 is a more thorough process and better value overall.

It is nice to have another automatic option to fill the gap for body artists between manual cleaning, ultrasonic and Hydrim automated washers. They are both in the same price range, and the https://piercers.com/ and in the US at https://statim.us/

Resources:

  • Another option for cleaning was the Hygea line from ULTRAWAVE.
Not fully automated, but a significant step up from the common benchtop ultrasonic.
  • L&R are moving in the right direction with Effica lockable covers.
  • Coltene/Whaledent sells a few decent models as well such as the UC150 and UC300
  • Crest does not have any with locking or well sealed lids, as far as I know. I don’t suggest making do with shower caps.

2 pack replacement tip $6.48 each
Replacement Dropper $.60 each
Replacement Rubber Stopper $1.69 each

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Remove the stopper from the end of the marker.
  2. Using the supplied dropper, fill marker with electrolyte.
  3. Replace stopper firmly using a twist motion.
  4. Plug lead into the black (cathode) jack on your anodizer.
  5. Holding upright, depress tip end of marker until it becomes wet with electrolyte. Avoid flooding the tip-if there is too much liquid just blot on a paper towel.

⚠️⚡It is not advisable to turn the voltage up high and touch your piece with the marker. This can damage your marker as well as your anodizer. Start low, keeping the tip saturated with electrolyte and turn up the voltage slowly.

⚠️⚡Do NOT let the tip dry out as burn marks can occur on the metal if tip is too dry. Tips can be removed and the alternate end used once first end has become worn.

⚠️⚡Do NOT pull the lead out of jack by the cord, hold on to the banana plug when removing. By using this item, you agree to assume all risks and responsibilities associated with its use.
